Trooper Tom “Pappy” O’Neal Poster

$12.00Price

This poster was created from a historical photo of Trooper Tom “Pappy” O’Neal #353, taken at DPS/GSP Headquarters “back in the day.” Pappy was a member of the 37th Trooper School that graduated in 1969.  Pappy was stationed at Post 19 after Trooper School and served at Post 3, the Governor’s Mansion, and Posts 46 and 48.  Pappy retired in 1990 as Corporal at Post 48.  Pappy was a member of the first GSP Motorcycle Squad when it was created, until it was dissolved.  This photo was taken when Pappy went to HQ to turn in his issued Harley Davidson motorcycle and pick up his new Kawasaki.  Pappy was also selected from the Squad to attend CHiPS training Motorcycle with the California Highway Patrol.  Before he became a Trooper, Pappy worked for Chattanooga PD and DeKalb County PD (where he was part of the first motorcycle unit for DeKalb PD).

Thanks to Pappy’s son, Jared O’Neal, for providing the photo to the Historical Society to create the poster.
