Georgia Department of Public Safety Historical Society Scholarship Programs


The Georgia Department of Public Safety Historical Society, Inc. (DPSHS) was created in 1987 to help preserve and promote the history of the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Georgia State Patrol. The Georgia Department of Public Safety Historical Society, Inc. is a non-profit organization independent from the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

DPSHS awards one-time scholarship(s) on an annual basis to students and employees seeking to continue their education at an accredited four or two-year college/university; or a technical, trade, or vocational school. The scholarship amount varies each year depending on how much funding is available and how many qualified applicants are chosen. Awardees will not be eligible for any additional scholarships/renewals from the DPSHS Scholarship programs.


DPS Historical Society Scholarship
The Georgia Department of Public Safety Historical Society, Inc. (DPSHS), is offering scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year. Scholarships and award amounts will be presented during the DPS Awards Ceremony in March.

Lou Crouch Scholarship
In addition to the DPSHS Scholarships, the Historical Society is offering the Lou Crouch Scholarships to be awarded to two recipients (children/grandchildren OR employees) for $2,500 each. Scholarships will be presented during the DPS Awards Ceremony in March.
